I’ve had light-mindedness on, well, my mind lately. I wonder if an excess of humor (particularly inappropriate humor, but also the propensity to turn everything into a joke) isn’t one of the most subtle roadblocks to spirituality. We’re pretty good about not making dirty jokes, but the mindset that values constant laughter (by which I mean mocking or reveling, not an expression of joy) is a worldly one, I think. I have a lot of thoughts about this, but, in the spirit of discussion…
